Mustang Cobra's - Down Under
Discussion
Hello all,
I moved to Aus a couple of years back, and having looked over the domestic market here for my budget it's either a Jap turo'd something or well.... (much to my delight and somewhat disbelief) a 2001 Cobra it seems!!
From some intial research it looks as though there were 200 Australian delivered for the year, and what I was wondering (and apologies if this is a bit of a noowb style question) but is anyone aware of or can please point me to any information on
A) This specific car
B) Australian delivered Stangs
C) Any other useful resources outside of http://www.mustang.org.au/ as to what to look for / be aware of
Again apologies for perhaps a bit of a broad question, but all going well I may have a few more (more specific) questions as time goes on
Cheers all,
Gareth

Sorry to pirate you but go to www.S197.co.uk and PM JohnPony who has a new Mustang. Since they have to be RHD, his cost him something like $AU 125000. He is a memeber of the Aussie muscle car scene so will have more info.
The 2001 Corba was unique to Aus I believe and not even one sold in the Us for that model year.
I'm not certain of the spec or differences but it's bound to use the vast majority or standard Mustang parts. All very durable and reliable.
I suppose you best bet is to do a lot of Googling and maybe try and speak to a current owner.
As for tuning one, well I guess it will be pretty much the same as most ofther Stang. So places like Steeda, Kenne Bell and others should have compatiable parts.
You might be able to pick up some info on the Corba here: http://www.svtperformance.com/
However, in past experience, if it's not sold in the US, most American's have little knowledge of it, e.g. Euro spec Camaro's.
Lastly it might be worth emailing SVT (although I can't find their main website any longer??)
Emailing Ford (US and Aus) direct might be an idea too.
Lastly these guys might be able to help: http://www.svtcobraclub.com/mainpage.html
