Saleen for sale in Hampshire
Discussion
Saleen? Decent? Umm yes!
Is it the 3 Valve (ie just body kit), the SC281 (465bhp i think, i think there was a power hike that year), or the Extreme (550 bhp). Either way, sounds like a good price if SC281
The Saleen is more focused on top speed and billiard smooth race tracks. Ride is quite harsh on rough road (dumb 20 inch wheels IYAM), seats are hard, but the look and feel is more professional and sleek say than a Roush which feels much more torquey despite lower power
Nice video:

325bhp for the normal 3v '06 Saleen and 435bhp for the '06 supercharged, 465 came with the '07 model, extreme was indeed 550bhp in '06. Have to disagree with the 'harsh ride' comment, I haven't found any problems with comfort driving mine, also Saleens are limited to approx 155mph top speed so can't see how they can be top speed orientated? It is more than just a bodykit even on the base model, have a look here... http://www.saleen.com/2008_s281_3v_specs.asp
Is it the white one on auto trader? If so that is the base 3v model, also it's a 5 speed and not 6 as they have advertised, if your serious about buying I will strongly suggest you find out who carried out the electrical work for the SVA as there are so many 'bodge jobs' around and it is becomming very common for these type of jobs to rear their ugly heads and ebd up with you having to pay anywhere between £1000-2000 for it all to be put right!

The Saleen is, IMHO, the best looking of the Mustangs and it comes with a few features like the 20" wheels and besopoke interior parts. However, since a 2006 Mustang GT has just been bought for £17k with less than 3k on the clock - privately - you have to ask yourself whether this car is worth £7k more. In truth, it's not.
The stock GT has 300hp and an intake kit will cost about £500 to match the power of the Saleen. Roush suspension will cost you about £1000, £1500 fitted probably and that's the full kit and kaboodle. Of course, you won't get a bodykit like the Saleen but think pof what you could spend that extra £4500 on - I spent it on a 462hp supercharger.
