Any Fox body owners here??
Discussion
I'm amazed at how few Fox body Stangs appear to be in the UK? I'm talknig about these:
and specifically the Notchbacks:
I'm amzaed as there appears to be hardly any for sale from this era. Plenty of older and newer ones but not these.
Where are they all?
I've been thinking about getting a new daily driver and one of these would be ideal and is currenly on my list of 5 cars to evaluate. But I can't find one for sale.
In the US they seem to be going for cheap at the moment (don't think it will last as prices are on the rise). But Importing one seems costly consdering the purchase price.

You need to get over to www.mocgb.co.uk and hook up with Jon (suzyfan). He is a Fox body lover and there are a few over there too.

ta, I'm already a member over there. Didn't seem that many on there when last I checked.Kev
I guess I'd really like to find some for sale that are in ok condition and not going for stupid money.
Still looking...
It just seems odd. I've just been on Ebay and not a single one could I find, not even a V6. Yet there are plenty of 60's/early 70's and post 1994 models.
In fact there are way too many 1994/5 models for sale.
Also done a national search on Autotrader and there's only a 79 for sale and IMO up for a bit too much money.
Where are all the 1990-1993 ones with EFI? They're good cars. Small, lightweight and very tunable.
I've seen them in the US for around $3000, but to then spend a similar amount shipping it back and getting road legal seems a little despondent.
Anyone know any importers that would be interested in sourcing this type of vehicle and would import it for me?

You should ask Mustanglimey over on the MOCGB. He imported a nice little drag Fox that's running 12s. Rich Nicholls has the ACW project Cobra for sale and I think a black one as well.
I used a guy over in Maryland to go and look at Corvettes for me but he charges about $600 to do the exporting (or did 4 years ago).
$3000 would be about £2600 landed here. Not bad really for the right car.
I was more tempted by a Corvette C4 - right in the doldrums at the moment and a low mile 1988 minter was under $12000 which is about £8600 landed.

Thanks for the advice. I like the C4's too, but to be honest if I had a Vette it's have to be a C5 z06 or C6.I used a guy over in Maryland to go and look at Corvettes for me but he charges about $600 to do the exporting (or did 4 years ago).

Also looking for a 4 seater and something small to park. Sadly have to park down a side street for work so don't want anything too big. Been considering a Impreza, Puma or Integra. But on reflection I'd much rather stick with a yank and have always wanted a Stang.

I picked this up last week, very happy so far, it has some rust issues but none serious enough just yet, my main priority is to get the gauges working and then fit some decent brakes, then I'll worry about the spend for body work.
Just so you know, that's still listed on autotrader.Edited by 300bhp/ton on Friday 20th June 20:38
This is my wife's fox, had it two years, its had trickflow track heat top end kit, heads, cam and intake with 36lb injectors it also has a paxton superchager sn92 making about 5psi, flowmaster exhaust with bbk shorty headers, its just had a new b@m aod gearbox, bh to setup but got there in the end. '88 LX used to be my daily driver but, after a hard life, it's run aground.
The body's shot, rad's gone, brake pipes too, roof leaks, interior is worn out
and to cap it all, someone's feeding the local pidgeon ExLax.....
The engine+gearbox are planning to emigrate to a nearby TVR Taimar soon, and in the
meantime I'm having to make do with a '94

I have recently bought the ACW project car, the interior is mint but the paint work isn't nice at all. It definitely needs a respray but i knew that when i bought it
I've also just bought a 92LX that I'm breaking for parts:
They are around, you just need to look really hard.... theyre not easy to find....

They weren't that popular because they looked a bit like the Escort Mk IV, the dollar exchange rate wasn't anything like as good as it is now and it lost out to the Camaros in the looks department (3rd and 4th gens). They were popular in the US because of the endless tuning possibilities over there.
