Got me a new V8 Mustang...picked it up last week

Have noticed some numbers must have fallen off the speedo but I can't find them.......Now the speedo reads up to a measly 140mph.............What's all that about.

Aslo have these cars got a LSD?

Do the headlamps adjust electrically on a switch like most cars built this side of 1990?

Your thoughts and help would be appreciated.

Hi Swerni,

Just an FYI - it is a requirement that all cars registered in the UK have mph. Even if the Certificate of Conformity was used to register a Euro car, you need to have the mph (usually jointly with kph).

You may want to get that checked and get your dealer to change it (at their expense). If the car was ever investigated, technically it does not abide by UK rules and therefore you (might) find an insurance claim is void. I'll leave that one to the lawyers out there, but thought you might want to look it up.

Yes it's the orange one.

Not having stripes despite the pressure from my boys.

Got to get a Shelby front end.

Still....loving the car, quicker than thought it would be (Pre paxton)

The speedo is about aerodynamics which pretty much limit the car to about that at the top end. The 5.7 Z28 Camaro had 305hp and a top speed of 160 and that was far more slippery. The Saleen has a speedo that reads higher but I don't know if it's a straight fit or not or whether you have to rest the ratio.

Yes it has a LSD.

No. Headlamps are fixed and only have a manual vertical adjuster using a Phillips screwdriver - not even a horizontal adjuster. Now stop being lazy and go and read the manual, it's not very long. It's essential for adjusting the twin vreeble oscillator....

Ah yes. It was most embarassing when I didn't know where mine was located.

i thought it was engine limited actually. i have found that at max the front gets very light. if there is anything left, i'm not sure i'd want the car to go any faster.

does anyone know the torque on the 4.6 v8?
