I am really considering to buy a Cervini kitted mustang. There are a few dealers around and I will research them when I get closer to making the decision...

Just wanted to hear from any owners of the C500, C300, converted GT's, converted GT500, etc... What is it like to live with, handling and ride, maintainence, costs, pros and cons, etc. I have heard some horror stories about how low they are and how prone the side exhausts are to being damaged and how costly the repairs can be.

I have always owned performance cars, but I have never owned modified cars. So this is totally new to me. Any and all information, good and bad is highly appreciated! I don't expect it to be the be the best handling car (its got a live rear axle!!), I have other cars that I can use for driving thrills. Looking for something different...

Thanks guys!

There's a Cervini owner on the Mustang Owners' Club forum (www.mocgb.net) IIRC. Might be worth joining up and asking there.

Indeed. His main problem is the lack of any ground clearance. The Cervini kit or variation thereof is also fitted on the ASC Dominator which IMHO looks less crass but then I don't like the kit, full-stop, though plenty love it. Have a look on www.s197.com

Cheers guys! Will check out the sites. Ground clearance seems to be the biggest problem - especially as there are speed bumps everywhere I go! Anymore advice would be appreciated on the Cervini or Mustang in general.

Thanks once again!

hi jj,

I have one,not had it long enough to comment on maintenance. The ride is hard or should i mean "sporty". handling seems good to me but then ive not had many fast cars too judge it against. You are right about the ground clearance but i have to say most problems were in the first 2 weeks when i was new to the car,now after 2 months i have not had any problems with the height, you just have to think about it more often and take speed bumps slow. In any case you can keep the car on stock springs which will raise it up about 30mm. Im in west london if you want to take a look around and go for a spin (me driving of course),or will be at goodwood tomorrow.

Hi, We have done 6 of these mustangs now and the main problem is ground clearance as pointed out. As large lunchbox said once you get use to taking speed bumps slowly and thinking about the height of the kit the vehicle is o.k. I had one for 2 months and never had any problems. We have one customer who has his on stock suspension which makes a huge difference to height over speed bumps. As we do 20 inch wheels on these vehicles the car still sits o.k as the wheels fill in the large wheel arches. Give me a bell if you want to discuss.cheers James
