drive is still empty, as I know it will be for at least another week. the mustang is having a tour of europe without me. not the same on the back of a lorry though.

phoned directline for an update of where my baby is, they are finding out and calling back.

reckon when the car hits the dealer later this week (fingers crossed) i'll go see her. just to say hi.

Mate, at least you have a Mustang. I'm all talk and no pony at the moment! That's something that will be rectified early next year......unless, of course, the right car pops up in the meantime. hehe

And remember, it'll feel soooooooooo much better when you finally get it back.

Mind you, I'm not sure I could sleep at night knowing my Mustang was on the back of a truck trundling around europe. Sorry, that probably doesn't help!

Did you enjoy the rest of your trip? What shopping trolley did you rent in the end?

strangely enough, i spoke to Green Flag just after I posted this. they were adamant it was going to be another week yet, and the recovery company would call when they dropped it off. but eventually i got them to call the repatriation company, and lo and behold it was dropped off this morning!

so, obviously i was passing ACC anyway, and dropped in. there she is, done 0.2km since i left her, which i reckon was done this morning after they jump started her.

got to decide what to do now about getting it repaired.

strangely enough, met Swerni at Ian Goss as well. thought the white mustang that mooched in looked a bit familiar wink

the hire car in italy and switzerland was a fiat bravo diesel. did the job of ferrying me up and down the passes without much fuss, and was really quite capable, dare i say it - it could be quite good fun in places. pity it wasn't the mustang though. but then, at least it did 40mpg at 100 down the autostradas though wink

returning to the Alps in 6 weeks! and then again 3 weeks after that, and then again a week after that! this time in the proper car wink

Glad to hear it got back safely.

Ian Goss has been getting some good press recently. There's another write up in this months American Car World. And to think I used to live in Surbiton and work in Tolworth Tower!

Bill Shepherd seem to be really pushing the advertising at the moment.....there's a full page ad in this month Classic American mag and they had a stand at Goodwood.

Good old Tolly Tower. We started out on the 4th floor of the low rise, then moved up to the 13th on the other side....then took over half the 2nd floor on the low rise. I think the company is still there, just (Hedsorboard). It's probably about 8 years or so since I was there though.
