Service Intervals - 05 Mustang GT
Discussion
What's the general concensus regarding mileage between services. Mine's the old EVO car, and it looks like it was serviced at 5k, 10k and then at 19k miles. The book says every 5k miles, which seems a little excessive by modern standards. It's now got 27k miles on it, and I've just had a service.
Also - with reference to my 'overheating problem', it turns out to be a faulty resevoir cap - if my chaps have trouble getting one, can anyone recommend a decent spares supplier....
Cheers

I've been doing mine every 5K but only oil and filter change. Haven't looked at what's required at what mileage in the service book.
Any news on the blower by the way?
I'm waiting on Iain Litchfield to get the Milltek exhaust sorted - may look into getting both done at the same time.... Any news on the blower by the way?
mine will be on a strict 6k miles. i believe its 10km service interval. next big journey its got (france, andorra, spain, morocco, algeria, tunisia, italy, france, switzerland, austria, germany, belguim and then back to the uk) is probably going to do its service cycle in 3 weeks flat.
i'm not sure, but i have a feeling being a V8 makes the service interval shorter. my partner's toyota sequoia with a 4.8 V8 thats less than a year old is also on a 6k mile interval as well. i'm sure I read I read somewhere that V8s and bigger mess up the oil more or something like that.

Use mine as a daily drive - 22k in 14 months. Regularly serviced every 6k or so.
I think Ford say 5k intervals because most owners probably use as weekend drive, and therefore drive below average miles per annum.

Don't forget that in the US it's very common for Mustangs to be used every day so 6K is probably pretty accurate
