Just finished an epic modifying job on the car - competely replaced the suspension, brakes, exhaust along with a host of other mods.
Did a before and after of the engine note. Well, I say note, it's more of a bellow now
Now it sounds like a musclecar!
I know Twin Turbo will like this

Chris,
Awesome sound matey. Have you been piling on the pounds though as the motor seems to be leaning a bit to the left with you in it....LOL
Kev
The camera was on the pi$$ a bit! Oddly I noticed the sme thing and measured the hub to the wheel arch when I got home and it was then an inch lower on the other side?!?!
Just the suspension settling (that video was done literally as soon as I wheeled it out of the workshop).
Anyway, that's my excuse

Stig - superb sound - how achieved? I have a set of flowmaster mufflers and they are good, but no where near your sound. Yours now more akin to a 60's pre-cat Shelby!
Hi Baz - the entire system has been replaced. I now have American Racing longtube headers into their catted X-pipe, then back to SLP loudmouths.
They're not called Loudmouths for nothing

What an awesome sound !!
But are there UK noise limits which could mean car fails MOT in a few years time?

I asked at my local MOT place and he told me there is no actual sound meter reading that needs to met.
The MOT runs along the lines of - "is the car of a similar noise to other cars of this type". He told me since he doesn't usually MOT Mustangs he has nothing to compare against and it would pass.
Don't know if this is true but I've kept my stock one just in case.
Yes I had the same info on MOT. There is not a set limit just a general that the car should sound in line with its make. If you turn up with a road legal dragcar then it should be OK to sound like one.
So Chris when do I get to hear the Monster in Cookham, thats if it can be heard above the Monaro.
Who modded the suspension.

Hi Brian - will swing round sometime soon to compare the two! You'll definitely hear me coming
I imported all the parts and fitted them myself (as usual)
Who did you import the headers & X-pipe from?
Is it these, or the Loudmouths, that mainly contribute that lovely NASCAR sound?
I've got custom made axelback exhaust from Prospeed in Cardiff, great when you open it up but could be more aggressive sounding at tickover/low revs. Would putting new headers & X-pipe achieve this......

Hi monkey - hard to say, but probably a combination of the lot (headers, x-pipe and axlebacks). Even if you changed the headers/X-pipe, I wouldn't think it would sound the same as my setup simply as I have a complete absence of silencers! I suspect you'd either need to change the axle-backs for loudmouths too. Additionally, my longtube (not shorty as per the stock ones) headers are 1 3/4" diameter which is wider than usual. The X-pipe cat is much more free flowing, I have a pic of the matrix comparison with the stock cat - it's obvious from that.
I sourced the headers an X-pipe from Lethal Performance in the states. Speak to Jared if you're interested in a set and tell him I sent you
