service/repairs/re-calls
Discussion
Just a thought on owning one of these cars (am deciding what to get at the mo........)
I work for a certain brand that I couldnt possibly mention on here (all I can say is they have a 3 pointed star on the front of all their cars!) We re-call the things on an almost daily basis for various service measures (mainly) or out and out "safety re-calls". Either way, there is no charge to the customer for these mod's that are carried out at your local friendly dealer.
What are Mustangs like for re-calls? And once you have one over here, is their anybody who is licensed to do such work F.O.C to the customer and bill FORD USA?

so you can take a Mustang into your local blue oval dealer and they will have access to the technical info and get the parts, do the mods and invoice it to Ford USA??? Thats pretty sweet, I just assumed you would be on your own as it were.
am not following you here, which bit do you think can be invoiced to Ford USA?
the servicing costs are 100% down to you, but they do keep the oil filters on the shelf as they are the same as the V6 Mondeo, anything that breaks you feel is a warrenty issue is still 100% down to you! as i already said unless you buy a warrenty you will not have one
No, just in respect of re-calls/service measures alone. I didnt think they could even do that for you in a dealer. I am aware that service and other repairs are down to me. But say your Mass Air Flow sensor is playing up for example. Would they be prepared to diagnose the fault and order the part in from Ford USA for you? (on the basis that the customer is paying?)

I doubt it but it's not that difficult to get parts direct from the US yourself. With the current exchange rate this is no problem.
There are plenty of US car specialists who will do servicing, repairs etc.
TBH I wouldn't want to take my car to a Ford dealership where they are used to dealing with fiestas etc. Can you imagine how many miles they would clock up "test driving" whilst looking for faults.
