OK, thicky question coming up:

Does my Mustang with standard Ford kit, have a Thatcham approved immobiliser? Cause Directline are kicking up a fuss, and I cant imagine that a Ford UK garage can give me a letter.

Cheers,

yes i would try another insurer, one who accepts the factory fitted jobbie as suitable!
knowing how sensitive the wiring is on the '05 mustangs would you want someone cutting it about to install an alarm? yes it may work well for 1-2 years but what then? who repairs it

A-Plan are happy with the stock alarm - don't let anybody hack your wiring is my advice.

A-plan are happy with no alarm at all! Sound advice from Wayne too, which is why I opted not to fit one. My car does wear a nice, steel, orange wheelclamp though
