Run what ya brung at Santa Pod on 24th March. Its the Saturday as hopefully wont be too packed with ricers.

Quite a few Mustangs and Lightnings going to see what numbers they are running. A few grudge matches going on too and some new built motors being tried out.

Should be good.

Pay on the gate too.

Weather forecast is looking good for the weekend. Any snow will have cleared and looking like dry and sunny but cold...Just right for the supercharged gang then....

Anyone thinking of going?

Stig, I take it you're not heading for the strip in the GT/CS? Unless you've run it in already

Correct! Another 500 miles to rack up (and then an oil/filter change) before I'll give it the full beans.

As soon as the odometer hits 1000miles (ish) then it's on with the C&L CAI, Bama Predator 93 Oct race tune, UDPs and CMCV deletes! Not to mention all the suspension bits.

Then I'll think about it hehe

Should be there, weather permitting. Not sure if I will run it though, the 20's will slow it down & I hate it when a car goes slower!

Hope to fix that problem shortly...................

Chris,

Managed to dyno it and only gets 390 at rear wheels now due to the fuel pump maxxing out.
Apparently the stock fuel pump needs to be uprated to a duel fuel pump setup from the GT500. Currently these are $780 from Ford Racing.....
Stock ones are okay to 400bhp (not sure if thats at crank or rear wheels) and if I get one should release an extra 30-40 rwhp due to the JDM upgrade.

Hope you've budgeted for this mod if you've got one in the garage, I'll buy it from you...

lol - I did look at it, but am holding fire until I order the s/c. Just about to order some more suspension stuff (if that's possible!). Going to try and max it N/A before going forced induction. All the bits are in place, just need miles on the clock.

390rwhp is still pretty damn good mate. Definitely need the GT500 fuelling though - you do NOT want it to run lean eek

Lean is a definite no,no. Having melted six pistons & cracked a 5.0 block due to that very condition, you tend to get a bit paranoid!

Did they give you an Air/Fuel ratio figure Kev? 390rwhp should see you hit 112-113 mph I would think. May be best to short shift it, if it is leaning out, though.

Just pulled the trigger on JDM stage 2 Saleen blower & GT500 fuel system btw.

Hi there

Different cars and tunes must all differ I guess.

I am on the JDM stage 2 setup, but with slightly larger 3.60 pulley which produces a little less power. I am still on the stock pump and am producing a safe reliable 460RWHP. JDM have overlooked my dataloggs both on road and the dyno and confirm that even though my fuel pump does hit 100% duty cycle at 5600rpm the cars AFR remains perfect upto 6800rpm but thats mainly due to JDM's excellent package and tuning abilities.

JDM don't recommend I attempt any high speed on road runs though say in 4th or 5th and because I preferre to keep things safe JDM just done me a great deal on the GT500 pump setup which will hopefully arrive next week. Jim tells me no re-tune is required for the pumps as worse case the car will run ever so marginally richer and might create a few more HP up top. He does say though once I have the pumps he'd happily be able to supply me with a more aggressive tune and also hints I am ready for a 3.40 or 3.20 pulley should I wish to do so. Needless to say though I shall stick with the 3.60 pulley as the power is menacing as it is.

Just finished some suspension mods this weekend and needless to say its made the car fantastic, I can now lay all of that power down and hook up.

Dunno how the GT500 pump will make it richer unless you're starving the injectors as is?

The pumps just supply fuel to the fuel rail, it's the tune that affects how rich it is?

Hi m8

My thinking too, Jim reckons when I first put the pump in the car will run richer for the first 50-100 miles which is something he see's on the cars they have fitted them with. However as Jims tunes still have adaptive learning enabled after about 100 miles things should return to spot on accept for the fact the fuel pump will only get upto about 75% duty cycle.

Ok, good day except for the drizzle that turned up around midday. bitterly cold too which meant The Pod show nearly sold out of wooly hats...LOL.

Traction was a problem for us drag virgins but even the experienced guys had problems too.

Good to met a few from here. Maybe next time a big group when the weather is better.
