Been to internetcarshowroom yesterday. Nice guys, haven't a clue what a Mustang is really. They offered the snippet that apparently they didn't have any V6 GTs in stock at the moment. scratchchin

But that doesn't really matter, i know what I'm looking for at the end of the day.

Went to American Car Specialists today in Barnes and they were nice enough. Despite booking an aoppoint with ICS and a test drive, they offered nothing of the sort, and didn't actually have anything instock.

Whereas the dealer at Barnes instantly dug a red Mustang out of the pile and took me a for quick drive, and then handed my keys.

But, its a red Mustang. The car this Mustang is replacing are two red cards at the end of the day, but red on a Mustang. And red leather interior.

After the test drive, the leather interior had calmed down a bit, and to be honest was less of an issue.

But red Mustang. Anyone any thoughts?

Blimey, looking at the internetcarshowroom website, you'd think they specialise in Mustangs.....there's usually around 10 or so for sale. May be they're not all in stock though :scractchchin:

Bit of a worry, as that's where I was planning on arranging a test drive too

And the colour? There are two red (as far as I know). I don't fancy the bright, solid red, but the metallic dark red is quite nice. Has to be black (or may be grey) for me though. But, a V6? Gotta be a V8 for me!

My requirement is solely for a V8, the guy at ICS admits that they havent got many around and says "we dont have any V6 GTs either" or something along those lines, which is obviously a bit daft.

I was a bit irritated that they didn't have all the things they said they had. The owner sounds like a total Mustang nut (who wouldn't be) and exports them from his Florida home to his showroom in England. How good is that job!

They had several V6s kicking around, but only a V8 Cab in red, a white V8 away for SVA, and another one at their Sandhurst location iirc. They have 3 more on the way.

The other thing that annoyed me was that several of the cars were wearing wheels with the incorrect offset and a bit bling. Bling i can live with, but offsets that are out just look wrong.

Spoken to MsT about the (flat) red one i test drove, and she assures me that the proper Mustang colour was originally red, but admits that the blacks have grown on her.

I'm still undecided.

The other issue is that if go with this red Mustang, it'll be ready next week for a planned weekend away, plus, i'll have it with loads of time to spare for my drive to Morocco in mid March.

Well, obviously it's a personal thing, but I like (in order):

Black
Black
Black
Black
Black
Black
errr...
Vista Blue
White - but only in GT/CS trim or with a blue shelby stripe
Redfire - but only if the sun is constantly shining

Two reds - solid Torch red, and metallic redfire red.

I have the redfire red with black leather (no stripes) & I think car looks just great.

Do like car in black, and gun metal grey (married to 20" shelby razor wheels.)

Red & red leather doesn't work for me.

I've got the old EVO longtermer - It's Red with Red, and although not my 1st choice (by a long shot), it's grown on me alot. It really turns heads too. The red leather is fantastic - especially as the interior is so Retro. Mineral (?) grey with stripes would be my ideal - and the blue looks great too.

I obviously have to say I like all colours but mineral grey is a favourite- very eleanour from gone and sixty seconds. We have 3 in this colour in stock and 1 of these will be on Top gear this sunday !!! It's a static shot as they are doing a revue on the GT500 shelby.

I like the red.

Steve, your redfire Mustang looked exceptionally good when I was following it on Monday.
