It is about time that I got off my fat American style arse (not the only thing I managed to get while I lived in the US) and got the 2002 Mustang GT SVA'd. Looking for a location in Southampton/Hampshire area? Also any advice special to a Mustang appreciated. So far these are the areas that I can see need to be changed for the test.

Needs side lights
Does not need glowing indicators
Needs rear fog light
Does not need front fog lights ie use the front switch just for the backs.
Needs side repeating indicators
Needs amber rear indicators
Does not need flashing break lights
Needs correct speed rating on tyres
Needs standard exhuast
Does not need sports exhaust (but I shall put that back on afterwards, lovely sound)
Windows tinted, not too heavy but will it pass?
Wing mirrors do not bend, will it pass?

That's all I have on my list so far. Cheers partners....

I know there is a SVA testing station in Botley, Southampton; however I have heard they can be very strict and fail the car rather than point out what needs to be done, so you can sort it while they have they lunch. we took the Cobra to the test centre in the west country (can't remeber which one)

Hmm, not sure that I want to visit a strict test centre. Might have to try one further a field.

Found the Kit Car forum has lots of good SVA info.

How about the headlights? Will I need to change them?

Folding mirrors not required - LHD exempt
Tinted windows will fail except behind the front doors - peel it off door windows.
White sidelights . With separate orange is OK but may not be worth the risk.
Rear fog light - wouldn't worry too much about the fronts.
