Test drive on saturday

A big thank you to Iain at Litchfield for giving me the chance to pilot the nice black 05 Stang they've got there.
First impressions are that its very quick, quicker than I thought it would be. That said, it had the remap and cold air induction kit and was making 370bhp. Not bad for a 300 bhp motor....
The low end torque wasn't as strong as I imagined it would be, possibly because its a 3 valve motor and not a pushrod 2 valve.
Cabin was very nice. I don't see what all the fuss about lame yank interiors is all about. Very nice indeed.
Was surprised at how light the steering was and how direct it felt. No sloppiness there.
And the soundtrack was great too
Its definently a car I could live with (once I got used to not trying to change gears using the doorhandle)
Overall I was very impressed.

Good man. Glad you enjoyed the experience. I like the interior too although I suspect it had the interior upgrade (silver dash and upholstery-matched door panel inserts. You could buy secondhand and use the £4500 you save to have a 462bhp supercharger fitted. No shortage of torque there (385lb.ft). I would be wary of the remap unless you see a dyno readout with your own eyes as I find 370bhp quite a leap but in any event, it's not something I'd want to keep from my insurers and then you're into modified hassle anyway.
Yup it had the upgraded interior.
I wasn't sure about the 370bhp, I thought it was quite a large jump, but Litchfield have their own dyno, so I guess they've had a good chance to play about with it.
I don't quite know how they're going to shift the car I saw, as it had kph dials, which would put me off big time, when I can get a mph dialed car.
Still, gotta move house first. Fingers crossed should have done that by summer.
