Help! Where can we get insured!?
Discussion
Hello all!
My wife and I are very excited to buy an imported 2005 4.0 V6 Mustang. A real dream come true that such an opportunity has arisen!
We have hit a roadblock though...
We can't find anywhere that will insure it! Except Adrian flux but at a seemingly very high price of £1500 and no NCB.
Can anyone advise? Is there somewhere more reasonable or is this a normal price that we need to accept?
Thank you in advance for your help!
We really hope we can join the Mustang owners club!

We will give them a try, thank you.
I don't believe it's an age thing... But it could well be.
The current owner has been insured with Elephant for a long time so we tried them first, but they seemed to have stopped insuring it. The only reason he is insured is because he's been with them since they did insure it.
Surely there is someone out there who will insure us for a reasonable price!

Is this an "additional" car or replacing another one? If it's an additional one you'll possibly be starting out with no NCD on it. If so, you could consider "replacing" the existing car with the Mustang and starting a new policy on the existing car.
Adrian Flux and Classic Line are two possibles. Also Aviva.
As you say, some policies are "Net premium" and you don't earn NCD. However, both when you start and when you leave insurers should take account of your "driving record" in assessing the premium.

Brentacre were fantastic and have given us a very reasonable quote. Highly recommend to anyone else who might end up reading this thread. Adrian flux not so much, but they did give us a quote.
Looks like we've found our new forum if the sale goes through.
Thank you for your help guys!
