Chrome Trim - Missing or US Spec?!
Discussion
Hi All,
Bought my first Mustang (online) last month and massively enjoying it! After plenty of research I sourced a low mileage 2017 Blue 5.0 GT and am already thinking about trading up for a newer model!
However I looked out of the bedroom window yesterday and noticed that the chrome trim on the passengers side door (at the bottom of the window) appears to be missing... yes it took me a month to spot it! I contacted the Ford dealer I purchased the car from and they came back with the following explanation:
The trim on that side isn’t chrome because the car is US spec and they leave it black so it doesn’t get hot when drivers of left hand drive cars rest their arm on the door they don’t burn themselves.
That sounds reasonable I guess, however I've been searching all morning and can't find another car like it for sale in the UK! Am I not looking hard enough, or is the dealer on a wind up?! 😁
