in a couple of years when i graduate i want to fly to the west coast of america and buy a classic car then drive it across america.

i am thinking of doing it in a mustang simply because i like the shape of the 60s/70s ones.

has anyone done anything similar?
is anyone on the west coast? is it easy to get hold of a classic without major problems?
any other thoughts?

You'll probably need a US address to get insurance, possibly a US driving license. Insurance likely to be expensive, as you'll have no US driving record. You don't need to tell them this is a one-off trip; you can usually insure for 6 months
