There is a very good reason why fram filters are cheap. Do yourself and your car a big favour and throw that filter in the bin.
I would use a genuine Ford filter or if you're feeling flush use a Royal Purple filter. You can then sleep at night knowing your engine is safe.

Care to elaborate the problem with Fram Filters? I would use a genuine Ford filter or if you're feeling flush use a Royal Purple filter. You can then sleep at night knowing your engine is safe.

This will be Fram filter #5 or 6 and my engine is fine thanks
The only thing I can really say is that I was told by a very reliable engine builder not to use Fran filters ( I have used them in the past too) as he's seen a number of them fail. They looked OK from the outside but internally the actual filter element had come apart.
I have also seen a couple of YouTube ( I do take them with a pinch of salt) guys pull them apart and criticise their general weak build quality and lack of an anti drain back diaphragm.
In the real world you probably won't go wrong with a factory filter. I use a Royal Purple filter as they have a few additional features built in and they have a good reputation. They are in all honesty overkill for the way I drive but im happy to pay the extra. The last one was about £14.00 or so which isn't cheap, but it's only the cost of a couple of gallons of fuel anyway and we all go through a bit of that!! and its lot cheaper than a damaged engine.
Please don't take my post as a criticism as its not intended that way.

I didn't take it anyway, just wanted to know your reasoning for the post. I'm sure if you do research long enough you will find most if ot all filters have had a few failuresI have also seen a couple of YouTube ( I do take them with a pinch of salt) guys pull them apart and criticise their general weak build quality and lack of an anti drain back diaphragm.
