2017/18 Mustang
Discussion
Hi folks,
I'm in the market for a new car, and quite fancy one of the current Mustangs as my next chariot.
Having looked at them, I prefer the pre-facelift to the new 2018 cars, and am going to look at a low mileage ex-demo 18-plate car on Sunday.
Does anyone know if Ford UK have any remaining stock of new pre-facelift cars, or will anything out there now be used/ex-demo?
Prerequisites for me are V8 manual, preferably in Blue. The one I'm going to see is a Coupe, but I like convertibles also.
Cheers,
Jon

I looked at getting one a few months back. The dealer I went to (York) said there was a plethora of pre-facelift cars waiting to be sold. They must have had 15 or so just sitting out the back of the showroom.
Cheers for that, I'll ask the question when I'm there Sunday. No issue with having an ex-demo or nearly new car, but if there's the possibility of a deal on a new one, I'd welcome it.
I guess some dealers will have more stocks than others?
I have heard that production of the UK '18 model has been halted due to very low sales, to be expected I guess as when the RHD was introduced here it opened up the market for all the "i'd love a Mustang but would want it in right hand drive" brigade, the price was very good for a V8 at under £30k for the base model even fully loaded it was still a fair way under £40k. Now though as expected the powers that be decided to up the price thinking they could make more money and with a base V8 starting at over £40k a buyer incurs a huge increase in VED for the first 5 years they are veering towards a used model with low miles and saving themselves around £15k, too many drivers have been brainwashed over the years into believeing BMW's/Audi's & VW's are the badges to own due to their perceived reliability etc, so why would one of these people spend similar money on a Ford?

It's specifically a pre-facelift I'd like, and nothing to do with cost. I'd like a manual, so the 10-speed auto is of no interest, and I prefer the analogue dials to a digital dash. The front end re-design I'm not fussed over, both cars have SYNC3 with carplay, and the heated/vented seats, so you're not really missing out inside either.
There are about 150 pre-MCA (I.e. pre facelift) ones left Nationally. Should be able to get a decent deal with it being September, especially with 0% available. Dealers will be keen to shift them all ahead of the new quarter.
I know of a Shadow Edition, for which list is about £42k I think, being bought brand new for £36k, so definitely deals to be done.

Cheers... My local dealer has just offered a Blue Coupe Shadow Edition Manual for £38,590, on 0% straight HP.I know of a Shadow Edition, for which list is about £42k I think, being bought brand new for £36k, so definitely deals to be done.
That includes the £2k first year RFL.
Certainly makes it rather pointless going to look at a nearly new one for £35k...

What type of exhaust are you going for? Axle or cat back?
Probably cat back, as they can be more easily reversed further down the line...It's a rare thing in the UK as it's also the EU homologated version, so no issues with Ford or MOT etc. Ford Racing part no M-5200-M8GBV
https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-5200-M8GB...
Cost me almost £3k to import! Looking for £1950 if you're interested...
