Any one else disappointed with the build quality..?
After a hopeless PDI ...adhesive from protective covers left all over the car and the service booklet not filled in ( the adhesive became apparent as the car became dirty)
I set about cleaning it off.
The front and rear bumpers don’t fit snugly and and on the roof where the grooves come down to the windscreen really rough sealant has been smeared and crudely painted over .
I can’t see how it can be remedied without a wholesale respray and as the car has pearlescent white paint that would be a challenge.
Build quality does not equal reliability so I hope that will not be an issue.
On the plus side ..
It goes like hell ,has a great sound system and the best aircon of any car I have ever had ...

15.9 to the gallon so far .....

Yes I have very similar problems and also some small paint chips near where the boot meets the rear window on each side. Ford re-aligned the front bumper and have touched up the paint issues. I also had the protective film stuck in difficult to retrieve places.

Another thing is the undersealing - when I had it up on the ramps having a new exhaust fitted it looked like some sort of token effort. My mate with the workshop undersealed the rest of it for me properly. When I raised it with Ford they told me that they "don't really underseal cars these days".

I guess it's not an expensive car for how it looks and performs and I suspect/hope it will turn out to be pretty reliable. The most annoying part of the interior is the cupholder position but I can live with that. I also found the voice control on the nav to be pretty hopeless.

Having said all of that, I love the car and the way it drives. The exhaust was a must do mod for me though!

What model year is yours?

I've had no build quality issues with my MY18 car. But then again it's not been a full month with it yet.

Noticed a few little things like front bumper not on same level to wing and a mark from something that has dripped from inside of door down onto the sill.
Nothing major and I love the car nonetheless.
Its white so everything shows up

Only things with my 2016 car have been the non-existent underseal, and a screw which is evidently rattling around inside the driver's door.

Hi for those of you with Oxford white versions take a look at the front and rear fenders and compare the color to the rest of the car, you will see its slightly cream in comparison. When delivered to me from the dealer new, the car had a black speckling over it, which i first thought was oxidized paint but then looked to be over spray from a dark color. However i took the car to be detailed and have anti chip film applied and all that was removed at the same time. They actually pointed out the paint color differences in the fenders to me where after i noticed it clearly when i had not before. I also found the paint on the rear fender where it meets the bodywork looks very poor close up with heavy demarcation lines in it. its only really visible when looking for it, so not a major issue. Then there is the front fender where it meets the side wings, its always misaligned all the time no matter whats done to it. Apart from those, its all good and I love my 2017 GT to bits and still have a big cheesy grin on my face every time i climb into her. Cant beat it for the money i have to say.

I've had mine since March 2016:

It went back last September for replacement gutter lamps as they'd become blurred; a replacement steering wheel because the leather was peeling off and to have the seats repaired as the levers on the back of the seats were not properly engaging the cables so anyone in the back had to use the levers on the sides to get out. The gutter lamps have been good and the replacement steering wheel looks ad feels much better quality. Unfortunately the car's been back again for a second go on the seats, but they're playing up again and will need another go at the next service.

6 weeks ago it had two days in the bodyshop to remedy rust on the edge of the bonnet over both headlamps mad

I’ve had a seat cover replaced and a bit of internal footwell plastic replaced because it discoloured. The panel gaps are hilarious and the paint is wafer thin so a few stone chips but mine (touchwood) has been 100% reliable. At the end of the day they’re cheap so you can’t gripe about a couple of minor build quality issues. The engine is a peach and that’s what you’re buying (unless you buy an eco boost).

Mine's an Ecoboost, but has done just over 46,000 miles and using the OP's MPG figure I'd have spent north of £21,000 on fuel if I had a V8. As much as I wanted a V8 the Eco's right with that sort of mileage!

The ecos probably still wrong at that mileage but fair play to you! I’ve averaged 18mpg over my ownership, very few motorway miles though. At 70mph on a motorway it comfortably gets high 20’s.
