Hi there,
I've got a 68 390GT fastback in need of an engine and boot lid, the car is in primer, I want to sell it and I was wondering if it's worth searching for an engine, and turn it into a runner or sell it as is, and if so...........what's it worth????

£20 and i'll buy it

seriously, I've seen running '68 fastbacks selling on ebay. £3k seems reasonable for one in used condition and £6k was the high for a mint example. For yours, which is without engine, bootlid and paint (assuming the rest of the drive train is there) I wouldn't be expecting more than £500 to £1000, but then I don't know the true value of these things.

I've had an offer that jumped from 400 to 900 to 1500 in three hours from one guy from the owners club.
A mustang dealer in uk who likes to phone 8am for 3 days saying hes got pound notes and a recovery vehicle and offered 2000. on his website he has a 68 390GT fastback £30,000 i can see why he was so keen.

I've re-read the title. It's not a plain Fastback is it

The prices I mentioned are for plain Fastbacks not 390 GT's.

Over here in the USA there are plenty of Mustang collectors. Many Mustangs have rot though. If your car is in primer, i.e. rust free and ready to paint, you could consider advertising internationally. Just a thought....

Hi there, Does anyone know where I could get hold of a big block FE engine I'd prefer a 390, I've actually got a 289 HP but its in my old barn, which I got pushed out of there by greedy developers, I'm not allowed anywhere near the place. Any ideas what an original early 289HP is worth, I'm really thinking about stealing back. After all it is mine. And its got a high rise with a pair of hollies, ok ok its all in bits and spread around the old derelict barn. But I have a 68 manual 390GT fastback, that needs an engine, I'd rather put a 390 back in, If anyone has one, Coz Yankee V8's aren't the easiest items to steal....sorry liberate. the prof
