A few questions
Discussion
My brother has just bought a 16 plate 5ltr manual with 8000 miles on the clock. We have noticed the following issues....
The hand brake is pretty poor and requires a good seven clicks to get any kind of bite.
The rear tyres have a ware pattern that seems to indicate the tyres are wearing heavier from the inner part of the tyre outward.
Also one of the tyre valves is leaking, I was wondering if this was a standard valve or does it have a built in pressure sensor?
When changing from 1st to 2nd gear it's a bit clunky.
Other than that I was quite surprised how good these cars really are, and that's standard without any mods.
Thanks in advance for any advice,
John

I've had my 16 plate 5.0 manual for a year and a half, and have done 12k miles. From my experience:
The handbrake does need to be pulled right up on any sort of decent incline, always has done.
My rears are wearing pretty evenly (still on the original Pirellis, will be changing to Michelins when they're done - the Pirellis are awful when cold).
There are pressure sensors, but I've had no problem with mine.
The gearbox can be clunky, especially 2nd and 3rd. I believe some people have improved this by changing the gearbox oil to a better type, but am not sure of the details.
I love my car, haven't regretted buying it for a second. The one other thing I would advise would be to check the underseal, and look at getting it re-done by a specialist - the underseal done when the cars are imported to Europe is generally appaling.
