2016 Mustang V8 exhausts
Discussion
Having fitted quite a variety now I'd say the Roush axle back is probably the best value solution.
The ultimate is the Roush switchable system with four different modes including custom mapping for the valve actuation based on CAN inputs which you can program through your phone/tablet. This gives you the best of both worlds but obviously comes at a cost.
The Borla and Ford Racing systems are very good and we've fitted a few of those too along with Corsa products.
You really need to hear them to make an informed choice so if you can get to any meets that's the best way forward.

Had my Roush fitted for 1 month now... It's loud...!
Also have the MRT H pipe resonator delete.
Plus side:
Fantastic burble, change down always brings a big grin to my face
a few pops and bangs to go with it.
Idle sound is to die for.
No drone at any speed, even in the 2K drone zone
Any car you are in front of or behind will know you are there
Heel & toe sounds fantastic
Negative side:
It's very Loud when you get on the pedal
Start-up and high idle for the first 30 seconds in a quiet neighbourhood will get attention.
It is just at that singing point of the rev range when the volume rises, not great for a 6am start to work.
The sound reverberates massively against traffic alongside you.. Especially during acceleration.
Of course the negatives are also positives...! It depends on your preference.
I had already made the resonator delete prior to the Roush, maybe the 2 combined are a little extreme.
Who cares... I am in my mid-life no kids, Mustang experience and I have this car with all the extras because I CAN so bks to the the Nay Sayers.
You will NOT be disappointed.

I had the Roush axleback fitted last week and after viewing videos and talking to those in the know I was expecting it to be only slightly louder than stock, but it is way more than that and I absolutely love it,it truly brings the car alive.I could hardly hear the autos throttle blip using the paddles with the stock exhaust ,but now it is very very obvious .If I could change anything on the Roush axleback it would be to somehow make the tickover burble louder ,maybe it needs an X or H pipe for that.

From what I understand... X Pipe is more raspy than the burbling of the H Pipe.
All to do with the obstruction that the crossover gives.
As with the Roush axle back, when the gasses are flowing at full chat, it's almost a straight through design without the baffling, whereas at lower revs, the gasses in the boxes are somewhat disturbed.
The X Pipe offers the same unrestricted pass through at low and high revs..
The H pipe has more of a disturbing factor due to the balancing effect of the 2 chambers taking place.
I've had a few chats with a localexhaust specialist to this effect.

Hi. Pick my Stang up next Thursady. Where are you getting your Roush exhausts supplied and fitted and how much ? Need to get mine booked in. Rich.
I just had mine done today by Dave and co at gt101.co.uk for just under £600. Awesome service and the waiting area has 3(!) Ford GTs in it! They are based in Colchester.Exhaust is fantastic, much louder than stock but the axle back also has the advantage that if you want more noise in the future then a H-pipe is easy to fit in addition.
Also consider the Milltek catback ; UK produced-sourced, lovely sound .
..and there's one for sale in the classifieds:

Am i allowed to do that ?

Fitted my Roush axle back today.
The noise is EPIC. Honestly I dont know how they can create such an amazing noise out of two back boxes.
For £500 ish , this is truly a brilliant value exhaust.

Yup, truly a brilliant design without the expense of a cat back. Still hasn't stopped me pining for a H pipe for even more mayhem The noise is EPIC. Honestly I dont know how they can create such an amazing noise out of two back boxes.
