Free dyno/track session for a Mustang for audio recording
Discussion
Hi,
Hope everyone is well.
I have a quirky request that hopefully someone might be up for helping me with please!
I work in video games and am currently on the lookout for a nice sounding V8 Mustang to record, either on a dyno or on road/track.
Perhaps if someone was thinking of getting their Mustang on a dyno, then you could let us pay for it, in return for doing some extra tests so we can record them. You can also do whatever power runs and tinkering you wish to do too of course! And we can give you a professional recording of your car for posterity!
We are based in the South West but can be flexible and travel to you, so you can use whatever regular/local/preferred dyno you wish.
Alternatively, if someone would prefer razzing it up and down an airfield or something for us, then that could be cool too! A location might be trickier to find, but again, if you had somewhere in mind then that might be good. We are not needing skidding or anything that is going to trash tyres etc…we are purely focused on the car sounds.
The sorts of things we want to record are power run type recordings and some static RPM sounds, along with other bits and pieces – I can explain in more detail. Would be likely to take a couple of hours, including the time we need to attach mics etc. wait for the car to cool down (if on dyno etc.)
We have recorded many cars in the past, so we will not mark your car in any way, we will just attach multiple mics around with cable ties etc. It is all professional gear too so the recording will end up crystal clear with no distortion. We are not too fussy about what Mustang this is, only really focused on a nice sounding one – the noisier the better!
We would be looking to do this pretty soon, over the next week or two if possible.
Hopefully someone might be able to help?
Please let me know!
Many thanks
Tim

If you wanna travel up to Stoke, you can feel free to attach microphones to mine which is a V8 with a noisy but nice sounding exhaust. Plenty of nice roads around here so easy to get recordings both on the car and flyby's.
Drop me an email Gibbo205@hotmail.com
I also know a guy with a dyno and a Mustang but I'd have thought you'd prefer open road driving so then you don't have horrible dyno noise.
