As much as I want a V8 doing 24,000 miles a year is going to be very expensive ownership. I've driven a V8 and love it but none of the dealers have a 2.3 to drive. Can somebody take me out in theirs for a drive so I can make up my mind, stop faffing about and place an order.
Can't help you with the drive as I'm a few hundred mile away butI had the same dilemma, using it for work and putting miles on I went for the ecoboost. love my car, it's easier to drive, lighter, better weight distribution, lacks the V8 sound obviously but get over that and it's still a bloody quick & capable car. 27mpg round the town, 37mpg on a run, I've done just over 2100 mile in mine so far.
Doing those sort of miles in a V8 would be crippling, unless you have deep pockets
