Queue Jumper for a new Stang
Discussion
I think it would be more expensive to import a left hooker compared to the keen UK pricing, plus some dealers won't (or aren't allowed to) export a brand new car. It probably won't be too long a wait for a 2nd hand RHD one, most people who have ordered a UK car won't have driven one yet, and there will be some who get bored quickly.
If importing a car from the US, I'd get a car not available here such as a Roush.

Absolutely none whatsoever.
^^^^ This ! ^^^^Your local Ford dealer probably won't even want to supply you with something as simple as an oil filter for a non UK car !
No Ford warranty, no Ford finance options, harder to shift come sale or trade in time and loads of other negatives.
All the time Ford are offering RHD through main dealers at sensible prices who ever would want LHD in the UK ?

I have no interest in a RHD Mustang.
As to Ford not caring, so what ?
Lost if Independents who will service it rather than being ripped off.
Just about everyone who's ordered UK Mustangs have no interest in LHD Mustangs. As to Ford not caring, so what ?

They will be reassured by Ford providing a local dealership, warranty etc.
Local Main dealer servicing will be easy and cheap, it's a Ford.

Why would ford not sell you an oil filter?
Ever tried your local UK Ford parts department to get anything for a Ford vehicle not bearing a UK vin ? If you can supply a good UK part number they are OK with that, but anything US or LHD specific and they generally don't want to know. So to be fair S550 servicing parts should be OK so long as you've got UK part numbers and you are satisfied that those parts are correct for your non UK S550. swerni said:
People have been running mustangs in th UK for years.
With no warrantee
With no ford finance
And steering wheel on the correct side. (LHD)
Service cost from a specialist on the he S197 was £145 a year.
The problem with the right hand drive version supported by the ford network is it makes the car available to people who really don't get the a Americsn car culture.
I for one think it's a real shame they are bringing it over in RHD.
Agree with what you say, but I don't see it being a shame it's coming over in RHD. Ford saw it as a viable business case and went for it. Beyond that they're not likely to care. The way they've handled the UK Mustang launch for those who placed early orders just shows what you get with Ford. There's a good chance that many of the early adopters will sell out within a year or two for a multitude of different reasons, making the cars available to others. I for one think that will be great ! With no warrantee

They've been available for years, I had one from 2006 to 2011.
Or do you mean available for those not able to cope with LHD?
Having RHD just gets muppets out of their 3 Series into something different.
Selfishly, I like the exclusiveness of it all, glad I'm well out of mine.
Wow, go the sweeping generalisation. Personally I have only ordered a Mustang as it's a RHD and I've never owned a 3 series.Or do you mean available for those not able to cope with LHD?

Back on topic - OP, not clear whether you want a LHD or would consider a RHD? Hartwell Ford Oxford have a physical car in stock (cancelled order), 5.0 auto convertible in DIB if you want it. Laura is the contact there.

However, LHD Mustangs are going to be impacted by the freefall depreciation of RHD cars which will conform to the Uk norm for depreciation.
Luckily. except for maybe the GT350R, I am no fan of the S550 but would import a new Camaro SS in a heartbeat.
As for servicing, their simplicity means anyone can service one. As for warranty, a succession of Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs have never gone wrong, not once.
