Mustang V6 v V8
Discussion
to be honest I suspect that a lot of peeps would have no issue driving the 6 pot - however.... (there's always one of those isn't there?!):
mpg isn't noticeably better
THE EIGHT SOUNDS BETTER!!!!
insurance will be roughly the same
THE EIGHT SOUNDS BETTER!!!!
depreciation on a 6 will be worse
THE EIGHT SOUNDS BETTER!!!!
you may get pissed off with people telling you "you should have bought an 8" (even though they drive Fiestas!) - your money your choice

It depends what you want to use it for, how old you are and what you have been used to.
I know a young lad who has just had his V7 S197 a year and is very happy. sure, he wants a V8 but hell, you should have seen the crap I had when I was his age.
There are also 2 V6s.
The earlier one is basically a 4.0 version of the old Ford 2.8 Cologne engine chuffing out 210hp in a sub 1600kg car.
The later, more expensive V6 has 305hp, 5 more than the 4.6.
If you go for a V6, look for a Pony pack, distinguishable by small spotlights in the grille as this gives you the GT suspension and has a rear anti-roll bar but the V6 has smaller brakes and an open diff too and a lower spec, overall - cloth seats, lesser instruments and the like.
I'd also aim for a manual as the autos are set up for economy.
If they were cheaper, I'd have no issues swopping my Fiesta ST for a V6 as a daily driver, just for the looks.

I had a 2007 V6 for 4 years and was happy with it, only sold it as I needed the cash at the time. Only lost £800 on the purchase price when I sold it which was pretty good I would say. Bearing in mind it had quite a few mods it was no lesser car than my current GT, apart from deeper sound and a bit more speed.
If you feel the need to ask then probably best to buy a GT though.

I had a V6 and loved it, yeah it didnt have the grunt and power of the V8 but it served a purpose.
As Lu51fer says the pony pack makes a hell of a difference to the looks of the car.
But if you can save further get a V8 as the sound is sublime!
I went the whole hog and got a GT500 so I went one end of the spectrum to the other like a mad man!
My V6 Pony
My GT500
(any excuse to show them off!)
