Opinions please - 2011 and on Shelby

Hello all,
I am lucky enough to be spending three years in the USA and have decided that a Mustang is the way ahead. Specifically, a Shelby is the way ahead...! I have spent a fair bit of time looking into them and have decided to go for 2011 or later model, a coupe, preferably with the glass roof option.
However, I am keen to hear the opinions of existing Mustang owners regarding pros and cons of these cars - including options such as the glass roof and the SVT package.
I will be looking to bring the car back to the UK (I understand that if I meet certain conditions I will not be liable to pay import duty or VAT) so I want to get the purchase right first time and get something that's a pleasure to drive on either side of the road.
Any views and opinions appreciated.
Finally, here's one that I am looking at in Florida - what do you think?

What state do you live in?
Personally I would get a 2013/14 with the track pack GT500. The 13/14 will hit 200mph. They also look better.
For that price you could also get a used boss 302.

I had a 11' get GT500 then a 13' the 11 was a great car but with the 13 being a huge power upgrade I traded up.
The 11 is fast and looks great depending what exhaust you use they can sound different but all growl nicely. The 13 is just lethal weapon with the power it puts down, the new optional reccaro seats are nice, track pack is a must but you can get other solutions from any number of USA websites for parts. They both drive nicely and cruise along easily slow moving traffic not a problem, the clutch is a little firmer than what your used to in a UK car but still easy to work. Fuel being a lot cheaper in the USA will be in your favour as the tank is small and you burn through it quickly, I only averaged about 200 miles on a tank when driving around town and motorway miles.
Great fun owning one of these cars, I think if you intend to bring it to the UK a boss would be better as when you come to sell it will hold its value better than a GT500.

5ohmustang - lovely looking car and thanks for the advice. I will check that out. I live in Florida, up in the panhandle. Have been keeping an eye on the cars around here for some time. Wondering if the 11/12/13 'Stangs will drop in value much once the '15 comes out.

Re-sale value is certainly something I am keen on because I don't know if I will get on with a LHD car in the UK so want to have the option of selling without making a big loss. Along these lines, do you feel that the RHD cars will affect the resale value of LHD ones?

its anybodies guess what will happen to the lhd mustang market value when the rhd becomes readily available here. my opinion is that the true mustang enthusiasts will still want the lhd over a rhd especially as the new mustang will be less like a traditional american muscle car and more engineered to fit in better with the euro market comparable cars. on production numbers alone the boss should be the better investment as they made fewer of them and i just haven't seen very many for sale here in the UK, compared to the gt500 which there seems to be a fair few for sale over the last 12 months. the lhd is not as easy to live with granted on uk roads but i don't see major issues that cant be solved, the only problem i face that gets me a little frustrated is the insurance, underwriters here can be a pain with imports and prices tend to be higher for me against a regular car, this could be my age as a factor though as many like to only insure over 30.

Good luck deciding, what a great choice to have to make. The fact that you can bring a car over tax-free and save probably £10k will protect you from a heavy loss, although you will need to keep it 12 months in the UK. LHD in the UK? - not an issue!Personally for the money of that '12 your're looking at you could easily pick up a GT500KR. I had one for a year (Manhattan, NYC is not the place for a car like that). Special, special cars and way more likley to hold their value than the standard GT500.
