Evening Guys,

I was hoping somebody could help. If i am being gifted a GT Mustang from a family member in Dubai, what must I provide in regards of an invoice when registering the car in the UK?

Also, if I was to buy another in the EU from a private seller, what again must I provide.

I am looking forward to being a part of the Mustang family, as we speak I am ordering my Borla S-Type Exhaust.

Thanks

If you can't provide an invoice as proof of sale price, then customs will estimate the car's value to calculate any import duty and vat due.

Afternoon Keith,

Thanks for getting back to me, would this have to be the invoice my uncle would have for buying the vehicle, or could I create an invoice to show me buying it off him if needs be.

Many Thanks

They will value it. An invoice, at an obvious under-value, will bring the same response. Otherwise we'd all be getting gifted Mustangs or be paying a token amount for them.

As much as I find it ridiculous that I will I have to pay charges on a car that is being gifted, aslong as an invoice would be sufficient I suppose I will have to create one.

Appreciate your time guys.
