Gone In 30 Seconds!
Discussion
The 2015 Ford Mustang is off to a strong start in Europe as the company has announced the first 500 models were reserved in just 30 seconds.
Ford will begin contacting customers shortly and will invite them to complete their order at a dealership later this year. Even if a handful of people back out, Ford should have no problem selling the leftovers as more than 9,300 customers registered for a chance to reserve one of the first 500 Mustangs during last weekend’s UEFA Champions League Final.
According to Ford of Europe's vice president of Marketing, Sales and Service, “We knew there was huge excitement building for the new Ford Mustang coming to Europe, but the response during the UCL Final was overwhelming." Roelant de Waard went on to say “It was a truly special way to kick off the Ford Mustang era in Europe.”

I know it's far too early to know whether or not the Mustang will do well here. I'm not sure what to make of the 9,300 registrants figure. Is that good?

Has there been any news about how much they will cost over here?
Last time I looked it was around £30k to import a brand new one over here from the US. Guess its going to be a bit more than that due to the exclusivity and RHD conversion.
Surely it's not a conversion, aren't they being manufactured as RHD?Last time I looked it was around £30k to import a brand new one over here from the US. Guess its going to be a bit more than that due to the exclusivity and RHD conversion.

Yeah, im guessing ford will still have to alter/convert some of its tooling to produce RHD Mustangs though.
In one of the videos on YouTube a member of the Ford development team mention that as well as re-engineering the car to be able to accommodate a RHD layout, their entire method of manufacture had to be rethought too. So I'm guessing the new Mustang assembly line can switch seamlessly between RHD and LHD cars depending on the build sheet.I'd like to see a new 'Mega Factories' episode focusing on the new Mustang.
So pissed I didn't get my call. I was sat pounding that F5 key and as soon as the site went live, I completed the form in just a few seconds and sent it off... did I get a call to say I'd managed to get in there? Nah... bugger. I want the 5.0 too, surely not everyone bought that model?
