No brake lights

Noticed tonight in the dark, I've got no brake lights !

I haven't been back to the car in the dark yet to investigate, so haven't checked fuses. Hard to believe ALL the brake bulbs have gone ? Maybe it's the brake switch. Otherwise I'm afraid there's been some muppetry involved in wiring in orange indicators and the SJB is blown

Does the cruise control work?

Some less scrupulous people use the brake light/cruise control feed incorrectly in the rewire.

Ask on the other two sites. Someone will know the answer.

Yes cruise works - and all other lighting works OK (even if the indicators seem to blink a tad slower than normal, but still perhaps they're all like that ?)
Just no brake lights.
So it has to be the brake switch or the SJB I'd think.

eta Brake on/off fuse is OK.

It's looking like the brake switch - got power to the brake pedal, nothing after (up to the rear centre light anyway). So ordered a switch to see if that solves it.

I have had problems with my brake light switch too, it keeps sticking so when I park up it stays on, I have to keep stabbing the brake until it switches off, really annoying. Funny never known this to be an issue for the S197 but read here and on MOCGB today others with issues. I have been told to replace the switch.

So, I got a new brake switch. Plugged in fitted, tested. Nothing. Still no brake lights.
Ah well, looks like a specialist job then with maybe a new smart junction box needed.
