Anyone out there know anything about these cars ? Maybe the dealers themselves are reading ? I know James from Atlantic is here quite often. He's already sent me some bigger pics of the silver/grey car.

I have had one for nearly two years & have really enjoyed it. Folk will come on here stating that a Roush is better, or mod a GT instead, I have had a modded GT before the GT500 & it is definitely an upgrade. Mine has a pulley & tune, it went 179 at Bruntingthorpe last year. Just got to choose a colour!!

Thanks for your reply Jeff. The white/blue stripes combo looks really nice. I'm not sure on the wheels though in the ad I posted (the white/blue car). I'd be changing those - probably back to standard - if I bought that one.
I've also thought about a Roush or a Saleen, but, I dunno. I just like that Shelby sound. The good thing about the white and silver cars is the exhaust is already changed smile

Still there Roo ? I haven't had any response to my email (typical bloody dealers wink )

I'm hoping to get down to the showroom tomorrow. I'll call - but how late can someone be there tomorrow (19th) ?

It's sold I'm afraid. Not surprising as it was the cheapest '08 in the country.

I can do you a deal on the more exclusive Parnelli Jones if you want.

That's a shame. For me anyway.
Ah well - going to take a look at the white one hopefully on Saturday.

That yellow Saleen is kind of interesting - the colour puts me off a bit though.

Well, I'm getting closer. Very close now.
I have a question on security. Adrian Flux want a cat1 alarm installed. What does the GT500 have as standard ? Does the immobiliser meet cat 2, so it needs a cat1 upgrade ?
Anybody tackled this 'problem' ?

Had the same problem with Flux having used them for my previous GT, for the Gt500 they wanted a Cat 1 alarm, I did not want an aftermarket alarm fitted & in the end went with MCE & now Classic line who are happy with the Ford OEM system.

As imports the cars are not Thatcham tested & hence they have no UK rating.

Thanks. I also got the tip to try another insurer (A-plan) amongst the names. As they recognise the standard security.

Yes, whatever you do DO NOT FIT AN AFTERMARKET ALARM/IMMOBILISER. The Ford system is superior to just about all of the aftermarket systems and far more reliable than all of them.
One of our customers' insurers insisted on an aftermarket alarm, but after we'd spoken to them they compromised with a tracker - better idea and does not interfere with the original wiring.

Annoyed. Still waiting for my GT500 to turn up. Which in turn is waiting on a bloody house sale to go through. Who could've thought it's so hard to sell a house on a prime location, with no chain ?
On the positive, yet slightly annoying side. My best mate is picking up a GT500 today ! The git wink
