Guys, I know it is not a Mustang, but, I do not think there is a Jeep forum here on PH. My 2005 (54plate) 2.7CRD auto JGC has a problem. The engine warning light is on and the power is restricted. The closest Jeep dealer says it is likely to be the Transmission Control Module (not sure because they recently broke their plug in analyser) and this will cost £1500 plus labour (at £119/hour).

Does anybody know a good indi in the Sussex area who will be able to diagnose/fix this (or at least fix if I get the diag done by another dealer)?

Many thanks!

Kevin (will have a Mustang one day!)

A dealer only has one OBD2 ?

PS. You are in limp mode

4 on & offs with the key may bring up a code in the odometer which you do a search on.
Editsmile 4 ons and 3 offs

Is the fuel cap on properly?

If it's loose it can put up the check engine light.

Thanks guys, since I am travelling a lot for work I have taken it to another Jeep specialist dealer. They have all the kit, I should find out tomorrow what the problem is.

Just an update.

Main dealer sees no fault codes at all. No problems with the transmission and diagnosed a faulty turbo boost solenoid. Took one from another car, fited it to mine and test drove it, all is well so ordered and fitted a new one. Collect the car tomorrow. Much cheaper than other garages wrong diagnosis.

Thanks guys!
