Did you buy/try anything OP?
Seriously thinking of looking at a Bullitt
The furthest I've got is a test drive of a manual. It was only round the block so didn't get out of 3rd gear. No chance of doing more at present due to Covid restrictions. I'm going to leave it all until the new year now. Seriously thinking of looking at a Bullitt
I've done around 4000 miles in two different Ecoboost Mustangs with the 10 speed auto and the only part of both cars I didn't like was the gearbox.
I ended up leaving it in sport mode constantly, as it never felt like it was in the right gear. There were flat spots of no power whilst it loafed around in 10th gear followed by an ungraceful jerk as it dropped about 4 cogs realising I needed more progress. It was good around town, and fine if you were hooked up in gear or using the paddle shifters, but making minor adjustments on highways/freeways often lacked finesse. I like auto boxes (the ZF8HP in my last two BMWs has been amazing), but both 10 speeds I found annoying.
Still, having said that, a 6 speed manual is always something that sounds like a good idea, but in practice you'll come to regret.
I'd still get the auto on the basis that in most driving scenarios it's the better choice.

Really? Not something I've found personally.david-j8694 said:

Surely this is 100% dependant on 'where' you drive. And your personal preference?Edited by david-j8694 on Tuesday 10th November 15:26

Well, obviously. However, he said it'll be his daily driver at 6-8000 miles a year, which is beyond just a weekend car and therefore I think an auto is a more versatile option. If it's a pure weekend car I'd get a manual.
Having a gt auto and having driven a gt 10 speed for 4000 miles last summer in the USA, an auto needs a v8. I drove the eco boost 10 speed this feb in the USA, thankfully only for 200 miles, my it was painful !
Loved the 10 speed and if I could find “my gt convertible, in exactly the same colour/ spec I would without doubt replace mine.
Iam no boy racer but the 10 speed knocks .3 of a second off the 0 to sixty, compared to the manual.
More importantly for me the auto is so relaxing, just sit there and in the summer, warm tyres , turn off the traction, then it’s exciting !

Wow that must be so exciting to notice it every-time you go in the car David Beer said:

Hardly the point of buying a pony car IMO.300bhp/ton said:

A Bullitt is fast becoming the top of my shopping list.
There are 2 private sales that I’m interested in, one is a 2019 car with 780 miles, and a few extras.
Also this car...
I just found a great car on Auto Trader:
But, there is also a brand new car available, with Magnaride at £58600, on 0% PCP over 38 months, with 5k down?

Is the new car a no-brainer isn’t it?
