Hi I am looking for advice with my 2008 Astra SRI 150 (with Thurlby 888 chip). I have owned the car since it was 8 months old with very little problems (touch wood) and I am very happy with it until recently.

I occasionally get the stability control I think it is the ESP light (orange triangle with car shape in the middle), light lighting up on the dash board and applying the brakes for me. This ONLY happens when cornering (having read many posts ref ESP probs, I am not going too fast for the bends, no oil or dirt on the roads). I drive the same route to work 5 days a week at the same speeds.

Another couple of things to think about....it only appears to happen on overrun round the bend, never under acceleration. I am not backing off half way round the corner so not causing the rear end to slide out.

The other thing is that It has started doing this since I had new rear tyres fitted. They aren't the same make as the front (of which I wanted) but they are a decent brand. This could be just a coincidance (spelling??)

I don't have any knocking noises or rattles and on other days I drive the car quite hard and the ESP/system light doesn't come on!

It has been plugged in with no fault codes showing.

Any ideas??? Thanks in anticipation

I'm assuming the ESP will use a hub sensor at each wheel?

Start by checking the wiring and connections to each sensor.
Could also be a sign that one of the sensors is on the way out. I assume the hub/bearing/sensor will be one sealed unit like the earlier Astra's.
