Astra instrument cluster problems

Let me try to brief it.

My dads mate brought another cluster for his Astra
He swapped the clusters around... They worked perfectly fine but the
Date and time wasn't showing.

He checked all fuses and all fuses were fine....

Upon starting the car it has come apparent none of the dials/ lights work
On the cluster. Mileage is showing but everything else doesn't.

Hes put the original cluster back in and the problem has followed over.

Any possible ideas as to what could have happened??

Date and time isn't shown anywhere near the mileage on a Mk4 Astra, it's on the display in the middle of the dash above the heater vents?

If nothing's lighting up, then it's probably one of the fuses gone.
