According to the Corsa-C owners club, my model of Corsa (2004 (04) 1.7 CDTi SRi) was the only Corsa C model to come with all the parts for cruise control already fitted (clutch switch etc.), besides the stalk with the button on. Therefore, many people on there have fitted the stalk, then got Vauxhall to hook it up to their Tech2 machine and tell the ECU that CC is now fitted, and it works a charm.

So, I email my local Vauxhall dealer and am told 'no, we don't think it's possible'. They said they will confirm again on Monday when the appropriate VX Tech person is back in, but at this rate (and after my previous experience with them) I don't hold out much hope for the numpties! Therefore, if this doesn't work out, I was wondering if anyone knew of a garage or whatever with the appropriate Vauxhall Tech2 equipment etc. that could perhaps help me get to the bottom of this, and if anyone could confirm if it actually is possible anyway?

Thanks!

you'd probably do best to ask on corsa-c.co.uk, I imagine plenty of people there will know

if you can get hold of an independent Vauxhall specialist he's bound to be able to help
also, go to your VX dealer and try to talk to the Tech 2 guy yourself. if it's possible, he'll know. and I'm sure it is. on the front desk they'll usually tell you it's more complicated than that to squeeze cash out of you. probably against Vauxhall protocol - they want you to do more than just pay for 2 minutes of Tech 2 time

God, what I'd do for cruise control in my 1.2.......

Yes it can be done. The wiring is not always visible though. Usually the wiring including the plug is taped back. Reveal the wiring hook upto clutch switch. Replace the stalk then take to dealer with Carpass as you will need the code.

My mum had this done to her Meriva 1.7CDTi for a trip to france. Great mod.

Forget this on a 1.2, not enough torque for cruise.

Email me if you want to know more.
