The Lotus contribution to the Lotus Carlton and the VX220 are well known, but can any of you experts shine a light on what the company did for the Tigra?

It's often reported that Vauxhall Tigras had their handling 'tweaked by Lotus', but what did Lotus do?

It's been stated that 'in October 1997' (from what VIN?) Lotus improved the suspension of the Vauxhall Tigra. I'm interested to learn what Lotus did to the Tigra, and whether it was more than a matter of spring rates and shock absorber settings?

How did the '98 Tigra's suspension differ from that of the '96?

I had a chat with the brand manager for VXR at one of last year's VXR power events, interested to know about the "Lotus" work that had gone into the Mk4 Astra (after the abysmal handling of the Mk3 Astra, did you ever have one?)

What he told me was that all the hype of "Lotus tuned" meant nothing more than very small aspects of the suspensions design had a bit of input in from someone who worked at Lotus.

Often when you hear "Lotus tuned" it conjures images of a comprehensive suspension design package with extensive testing on private tracks, with utmost performance in mind, alas this is not the case.

IIRC a Tigra uses all the same running gear as a Corsa?

I believe the 97> Corsa/Tigra's had thicker arb's

but there is no fundamental difference to the suspension set up. I'm guessing a Lotus employee simply advised them on spring and damper rates.

Lotus was involved in the development of the C16XE Corsa GSi engine.
