Not really, Infact a bigger exhaust on a non turbo car can have the opposite effect. Naturally aspirated engines genrally tend to need a bit of back pressure in the system to perform properly, which is why an N/A engine is gutless if the exhaust rots and drops off at the manifold.

Hey, I've got a 1.2 twinport, and I have a standard xhsut system, a different back box and also twin side exits..

tbh you can feel its a bit less 'get up and go' at times, without the middle box in, compared to with it in.

Tbh mate nip to your local scrappy, theres loads of corsa's in there with stainless exhaust/systems on for alot cheaper then brand spanking..

my advice would be to leave the middle box in and chang the back for a growl.. but ultimatly, its up to you

alot of people on the cors-c.co.uk go on about 'boom sticks' from ebay,

basically remove your rear box and clamp a pipe on to the rear of your car with a tip on it for show. This does sound well, you also keep the middle box by doing this too.

If you want alot of noise then remove (cut out and weld or clamp/sleeve) a pipe in replace on the middle box along with a different rear box.

If you go down the route of Irmscher (or however its spelt) I wouldn't. I have the double d back box and even with the middle box removed its barely a grunt, road legal yes and smart looking too smile

But also tbh I think irmscher stuff is stupidly expensive.. take a trip to ya scrap yard, you'll find loads of fully stainless rear boxes and probably a fully system off another corsa that'll fit yours, and alot cheaper too smile

no problem mate, would rather help people then watch them waste money and time.

Its a good thing to do, watch and looking at forums (as proved) you learn a fair bit and save money lol
