First of all, Hey guys and thanks for having me.

I have just been lucky enough to get my hands on a Astra SRI. Everythings in perfect condition except theres a passenger airbag light on.

Now last year the previous owner told me when it was bad snowy conditions someone hit him and left a egg sized dint in the passenger side bumper. Would this cause the sensor to go off, without setting the airbags off ?

Iv been to VX and local garages and they will reset the light so it goes off, but they wont assure me it wont go back on if i hit a bump etc. It concerns me, as if i do have a crash or a bump the airbag wont fire for a passenger.

The garage wont reset the light until i get the bump sorted. Anyone else had this problem. It seems VX want to strip my car and check all wiring and the loom, but the garage say it will be 35 pound to reset. Im confused.

Any idea guys

Try unplugging and reconnecting the side airbag plug under the passenger seat. It's a yellow connector, usually hangs down near the back (just where rear passenger's feet kick it).

Sorted it.

Gordans tyres must be clueless.

Got our next door neighbour to plug his computer in. Cleared faults. All done.

Sorted.
