Hi all, thought I'd show my face here. I've just exchanged my Impreza STi for a VX220 Turbo. Already said hello on .org so thought it'd be best to post here too. First impressions of the car are great, I love it biggrin. Looking forward to the VX magic.

I also have a Corsa so I suppose that completes the Vauxhall fleet smile

I found my silver Turbo pretty bad, especially lorries pulling out from the inside lane on motorways, always used to drive with my headlights on!

Cheers for the welcomes smile and yes, it is rather crazy crazy paving!

Interestingly a lot of people seem to notice the car, I get let out of junctions etc an awful lot more than I did in my old Impreza! It's also a weekend car, as I have a Corsa for the daily grind (although I couldn't resist taking the VX to work this morning). Absolutely love it so far, and it seems to be quite popular with the ladies too, which is a plus!

Ladies love them until they have to make an elegant entry or exit from one in a mini skirt!

Welcome. It's an addictive drive esp if you have some fun B-roads nearby.

Bought my NA 3yrs ago as a more interesting alternative runabout to a hot hatch, but like driving it as much as my TVR, so ended up investing in supercharging, suspension upgrade & quaife lsd.

There's nothing quite like it, I think it's a keeper.... smile

I think I'm going to go for some louder exhausts, I used to own an Impreza STi with a 4.5" fart cannon and I work with jet engines so I'm used to a bit of noise! Not sure what system to go for, I'm not bothered about motorway droning but I want something that's going to be noisy in tunnels but not so offensive to the public if I just want to amble past them.

I've been told about a Larini + Miltek combo, anybody got a VXT with some form of noisy additions? biggrin

Larini

I have a 2bular, but I doubt he'll make you one now

quiet enough on a motorway, bubbles and pops on lift off and very noisy under full load. love it!

Anything sounds better than the standard can though

Hope you like the car. I have a 2ubular, and when I bought it at the beginning of the year it was supposed to be one of the last. However, if you speak to Jim nicely he may be able to fit it in. Running without a cat also means the odd flame when the exhaust gets hot. May not be your cup of tea, but makes me happy! Noise wise its not too bad on long journeys.

I believed that Jim has 'outsourced' this so to speak so you can still get hold of them AFAIK.

Cheers for the response chaps - I'll have to investigate thte 2bular. I like the flames, I occasionally got an odd spit from my old Impreza and that was cause for great glee smile

What do you mean when you say a Larini is crap on-track? Is it purely to do with how loud it is?

I've got a full de-catted Larini that I'm having a cat welded in this afternoon. It's loud!
