Ownership experience/costs of Insignia VXR?
Discussion
Hello,
I currently drive a 123d but I'm seriously considering changing to either a Insignia VXR or possibly a VXR8. I've done some research an I'm aware of the tax cost (and don't care).
I've been quoted £405 to insure the insignia and £900 for the VXR8 (both just off quick money supermarket searches). The renewal of the 1-series is £560.
The reason for this is I just want a few opinions on what they are like to live with, day to day running costs etc.. I'm not bothered about fuel consumption having lived with (and loved) a series 3 land rover and a Griff 500 in the past.
Things I'm interested in is how much for a set of tyres and servicing costs, and most importantly what they are like to drive and how much 'character' they have I do get bored of cars that dont have and soul. I have heard mixed opinions about the Insignia, but it does have 4x4 that appeals to me and its very techie, which also appeals. The VXR8 appeals because of the big v8.
Thanks,
Neil.

Hi Neil
The best place to have a look at both of these cars is on:- www.vxronline.co.uk The forum covers the whole of the VXR range from Meriva to the VX220. Loads of helpful info and owners on there. I'm sure if you asked the same question, you would get more replies.
