Hi all,

For those who own a VX could you please give me some help on insurance matters.

I'm looking to get a 2.2NA model but the insurance is ridiculous.

I'm 22, 5 years NCB and in a Manchester postcode.

Are their any insurance companies that can give cheap insurance at my age for that type of car or is it best to wait until I am older?

The best quote I have received so far is £1800 with Elephant. That's for 7000 miles per year and protected no claims.

Thanks for your help in advance

for a std car I doubt many will beat elephant's quote. They were always way cheaper for me than anyone else when my car was standard. Age and postcode probably don't help you unfortunately.

You could try Adrian flux or CCI?

I found Bell slightly cheaper than Elephant.

Reckon you oould get it down to around 1500 with a bit of bartering between the two companies, play hard to get and see who wants your business the most bud smile

I found this when I had my VX.
I ended up getting an admiral multicar policy which was the same to insure the VX and my other car as it was the VX on its own with most other companies. Worth a ring if you haven't already...

Admiral, Bell, Elephant and Diamond are all the same company.

Might be worth giving us a try. If you pm me your name and number i can give you a call. Remember Pistonheads Members can get up to 15% off. Worth a look i think.

I tried Admiral last year when I was considering one, they gave me a quote of £1565 on a turbo, I was 22 with 2 years ncb.

I'm guessing your post code is the main reason it's so high.

Anyone know if Flux accept the 10month no claims admiral do, this will be my 3rd year with, or would they be able to use it as 2 years full ncb?

Hello, we do both. Some of the scemes we have will take it as 3 years but some will only let us put 2.
