Got to do the thermostat on my 1998 2.5 V6 vectra on saturday. Can anyone tell me where is it positioned so can go straight to it to save me a bit of time.

Right hand side looking at the engine bay?

How much and would it be worth doing the water pump at the same time?

You will need to split the thermostate housing from the front pipe. Remove the twisted top radiator hose, remove the bolt that hold the dipstick tube. Uses a set of pipe pliers to grasp the tube where you have removed the hose from. Rock it back and forth while levering the tong out towards the rad. It will be very tight.

If your confused it will become clear when your down to the thermo housing.
