Just purchased a 1.8 SRI Insignia. Best combined figure so far 26.5. Is anyone else experiencing the same problems??? Dealer tried to tell me car needed run in for 4k to 5k miles before true fuel economy would be reached. bullsh.t.Vauxhall confirmed you should get a true reading from day of purchase.

That's about the same as my 3.2 Vectra is doing at the moment, including some A road overtaking.

To be fair though, an Insignia is a lump of a car, a 1.8 is working hard to shift it along. Despite what Vx say, it should loosen up by 10k miles and return a few more MPG.

IME some people with 1.8 Astra G's struggle to get over 30mpg, so the same(ish) engine with an extra 200-300kgs to drag about your figure sounds about right.
