Evening all,

I've been given tractor-sounding Vaux-hell Astra company car until april (the lease is up on it and i can get something else) and for some reason the washer jets don't work. I can book it in at the main dealer and get it fixed but i don't want the hassle (Ever tried getting a courtesy car as a fleetlease user? no chance)

It's not the filter blockage that i've seen whinged about on numerous websites, as the motor doesnt even make a noise.

Anything i can fix myself and save myself the hassle? Fuse maybe? I've had a look in the fuse box but theres no diagram and i don't have the manual.

It's a 1.7CDTi 5dr if that helps

Cheers

probably the fuse, if its anything like mine the washer bottle is in the front bumper so gets no heat from the engine, freezes and then when you try and use it it pops the fuse for the motor!

10A Mini Blade type If i remember correctly

Tell me about it, i spent ages looking for the washer bottle filler with a torch only to find it right at the front where the bonnet catch is. Will it be under the bonnet fuse box? Some sites say there may also be a fuse box in the boot? I can't find a diagram, any idea what fuse number?

Fuse number 8 in the fuse box by the Battery under the bonnet.

Sorted now, but it was fuse 7.

While i was in Halfords a bloke came in and asked who the owner of the black Astra was. I owned up and he said it had slid down the car park and nearly hit the front of the shop hehe

The bays outside the halfords are on a 30 degree hill so i'm not sure if it was the ice and snow or a crap handbrake but it had slid down and come to a stop on the kerb by the front doors rofl

I'd have trouble explaing that to my boss on my second week!

Fuse 7 or 8 depending spec of the car. You'll also find the boot won't open too...
