Morning

I'm in need of some assistance. I'm currently seeking the some of the highest mileage Vauxhalls still running today so if you own or know of a Vauxhall that has either a huge ammount of miles or has done a remarkable ammount of miles in a short period of time then please let me know.

So far for example, I have found:

2004 Vectra 2.2DTi taxi that has clocked 300,000 miles and is still going strong
Combo van that has now done over 500,000 miles (trying to refind it to confirm the current figure)
Vectra CDTi that has covered just under 40,000 in a little under a year

As said, ideally I'm seeking some mega mileage performance based cars however any high mileage or high annual mileage Vauxhall will be of interest.

Many Thanks

Dave

Not that high for a "normal" car but my vx220 has done 101000 miles, the timing chain did snap at 97000 miles though requiring an engine rebuild.

there is no way you did 280,000 miles on a single set of tyres, unless they were the solid rubber ones used on forklifts.

Cheers chaps

It's looking like the search may being called off for the time being, response has been great but seems people are struggling to grasp that 145,000 isn't actually more than 305,000. Ho hum!

Although we have found possibly the highest mileage Vauxhall (if the owner replies) I am very much interested in finding high mileage cars by model and also on an annual basis, so yes the 101,000 mile VX220 is of interest as is the Insignia that would appear to be covering 40k a year.

We may run an appeal in the magazine to flush out some more cars but rest assured I shall keep checking back here whilst we try and compile a list of mega milers by model, plus an overall winner and also the highest annual mileage.

Many thanks for your input gents

Dave

If it helps I think I still have the Vauxhall inter dealer magazine with the article on that guy with the Combo. 500k and still going. Impressive indeed, but 500k in a Combo...poor sod...

The combi puts my 1999 2.5 SRi to shame with a mere 180k.

Still my daily driver but would like to go a month without something needing doing to it !

They're unlikely to be the most exciting of models, but driving school cars work-up huge mileage in no time at all...

Sorry this is only half useful, but my family bought a Cavalier estate car new in '85 that managed to rack up 310,000. Long gone now obviously.

Is this sorted now Dave? As Sheldon North's dad has an omega with 345k on it. and running sweet.
