2008 Astra Design Brake query

My father has the 1.6 version of the above and has been complaining about the brakes during the frost we have had recently seems to be coating the discs and pads meaning that he has no brakes. He has to run with the brakes on to 'de-ice' them before he has brakes.


Any advice about this?

Nothing to do with the fact it's an Astra, I don't think - both my car and the works vehicles have had st brakes until warm, sub-zero temps don't help the friction much
