Astra G 1.4 16v envoy questions

Have just bought one of these for the missus and have a few questions. The wipers wont park on the first two settings, was told by the previous owner the stalks faulty is this right or is it a relay or something else?

The cars fitted with rear discs, is this correct for a 1.4 and the handbrake is very poor but was told by the previous owner it just needs some adjustment but the brake pedal feels fine.

Also is it correct that it hasnt got central locking?

obviously I dont know what fault finding the guy has done, but similar symptoms are shown by a faulty motor. This thread shows how to fix it rather than replace the motor.

The adjustment for the cable is under the handbrake lever. From memory a 10mm deep socket is required.

AFAIK all Astra G's should have remote central locking

Cheers for that mate, handbrake all adjusted and working fine, it was a 10mm nut! Have got to change a checkstrap so will have a look if it has got central locking or not when the door casing comes off.

Will also have ago at that fix as does sound like the problem! thanks again
