No point taking it to the local dealer now, since the warranty has almost expired. Any ideas of where to take it? Ideally want under £100.

I'm not taking the piss, but DIY? It's soooo much cheaper its unreal. Plus if you use Vauxhall approved parts, you don't invalidate the warranty.

The only compromise is the Service Book stamp, which I could understand you wanting.

Yep, we need the stamp, because we're selling it come January.

Any independant garage will be part of the Vauxhall Trade Club so will get genuine service parts at virtually cost, so let them do it.

If it is just an oil service you could get the oil yourself (10w40) and an oil filter from your local Vauxhall dealer for £5, and just pay the labour.

But even letting a garage take care of the lot I'd expect a bill of around £60-£80. They should be charging half an hour labour tops, and even that is for a 10 minute job.

Vauxhall Masterfit sites... interm service is £99 if I remember correctly, perhaps even less. As for DIY, genuine parts or not that's one way to invalidate the warranty. Any VAT registered garage can service using geniune parts and the warranty will stand, however once the three years or 60,000 miles is up... forget any possibility of goodwill.

That's what I was thinking to be honest. It's only a few quid more to go to the local garage, which means it's also easier. Could get the MOT done by them at the same time, too.
